When relocating or installing new accessories:
Always make sure that all units involved are turned off and unplugged. The power supply distributes power to functions such as remote control and fast-start-up even if the unit is turned off. This could cause a spike to be sent through some sensitive components. Spikes are very dangerous to new electronic circuitry. Even if everything seems ok, unseen damage could occur, shortening the life span of some of the components. One spike could cause a premature and expensive service call. Please remember to turn off the power and remove the plug from the wall receptical before installing new accessories or changing any connectors. USB and some designated RAID hardware allow hot-swaps, but no others..

HDTV installation:
Several things should be considered when setting up a new
HDTV set as the screens on LCD and plasma sets are very fragile, not requiring more than a bump to physically destroy the screen. These screens can't be repaired. They have to be replaced and are quite expensive. The technician installing the screen will require a fee also.
Many warranties have a user abuse clause in them. If improper installation and/or handling causes damage, it may end up being an out-of-pocket expense as in not being covered by the warranty. Most manufactures warn about so much as even touching the screen with your fingers. Flat panel
computer monitors are just smaller versions of the same technology. Also, fragile units should be installed in an out-of-the-way place.Good wall mounts prove invaluable over time. Cheap insurance is what we call them. If in doubt, ask your sales representative or an accredible repair shop for a referral to a reliable installer. A few dollars spent on installation could save an awful problem of expense and time lost from enjoying your new toy.
